MEET THE TEAM

Sivaniya was inspired to initiate the Wisdom Exchange Project to connect research trainees with older adults to form meaningful intergenerational friendships. These relationships are rare to find but often spark an exchange of different stories, perspectives, and ideas!

Danielle is a postdoctoral fellow at the Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest. Her research investigates risk and protective factors across the lifespan for brain health with aging, with a specific focus on psychological stress. She is also interested in personalized dementia risk reduction programs. Danielle is interested and actively engaged in knowledge translation and community outreach.

Victoria is a postdoctoral fellow at Wilfrid Laurier University in the Department of Health Sciences, where her research is focused on determining neural biomarkers for brain fog in cancer patients. The long term goal of this project is to better understand how the brain is influenced by chemotherapy agents, and support research into methods of preventing and treating brain fog symptoms. She is passionate about science communication for all generations, which WEP provides a great opportunity for.

Maddy is a research assistant in the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Dalhousie University. Her MSc research aimed to identify biomarkers of frailty, investigating the impacts of frailty on metabolism. As a research assistant she is continuing to study frailty, including its effects on inflammation, and its relationship with dementia. Outside of research, Maddy has taken on roles to further her knowledge translation skills as a museum educator and youth STEM club leader.
